Light the redways with solar power

Our idea is to promote the use of redways when it is dark. This would encourage to people to use them all year round (i.e. over winter) and at night rather than just when it is sunny. By lighting the paths, it will make the redways feel safer.

We could achieve this by placing solar panels along the route and storing the energy in batteries. We can then install movement-sensitive lights powered from these batteries.

In addition to improving the safety of the redways, by monitoring when the lights are used we can generate a better understanding of how many people use the redways when it is dark.
