Storage and recovery of rainwater for different purposes

Lowering the waste of water

Overview

The collection and storage of water for public or residential buildings as a way to reduce the consumption of treated water in public spaces.

All buildings in the city have roofs; some occupy several square meters and others hundreds of square meters. We should consider the use of pipelines for conducting collected rainwater into reservoirs and reuse this water for different activities.

In the past castles had a reservoir to collect rainwater. In some small villages, roofs were adapted and built in a way to recover the rainwater to reservoirs. In the summer when the public fountains were dry, the use of stored water was the only way to have some precious liquid.
